Luigi Naldini graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Turin. At the same university, after a period in the USA, he obtained his doctorate in cytology and morphogenetic
sciences. After another long period in the United States, he returned definitively to Italy as director of the Gene Therapy Laboratory at Candiolo Cancer Institute, near Turin. Then he moved to
the San Raffaele-Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy in Milan, which he has been managing since 2008. He is also director of the division of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells, member of the
Scientific Technical Committee for Research at the San Raffaele Institute and full professor of Histology and Gene and cellular therapy at the Vita-Salute University of San Raffaele in Milan. His
research activity is focussed on gene therapy.
